2023 Nature Highlights

Each year we like to reflect and look back on the flora and fauna that has shared our lovely part of the Cotswolds. We've had some exciting surprise guests and many regular visitors which continues to help spur on our efforts for rewilding and making more room for nature on our doorstep. Massive thanks to our nature loving friend Terry Grant for compiling the findings and our own rewilding hero and groundsman Steve for his green fingers and hard efforts to further our mission to help nature.

Insects

Steve has made a conscious effort to create more habitat for moths and butterflies by leaving the meadows uncut to allow the following to thrive:

  • Dusky Sallow Moth

  • Gate Keeper
  • Painted Lady
  • Small Skipper

Flowers

Leaving the meadow uncut has also allowed our wild flowers to flourish and look absolutely beautiful, including:

  • Spotted Orchids

  • Yarrow
  • Dandelions - our bee's favourite and makes our honey the most golden and delicious!

We're extremely proud and cannot wait to see what happens next year!
