In our busy lives it’s all too easy for us to miss the beauty around us, not to hear what our bodies are telling us, get stuck in a mechanical conditioned way of thinking, slip into auto pilot and not enjoy life to the full. In auto pilot we get lost in ‘doing’ we focus on ‘getting stuff done’ we become vulnerable to stress, anxiety and depression, we lose some of the joy of living.
Mindfulness helps us to switch off the auto pilot and come back to the present maintaining an awareness of our thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations and our surrounding environment.
Mindfulness is proven to improve mental health and physical wellbeing, reducing stress and anxiety and promoting a feelings of health and well being.
Rob Kerley is a counsellor and Hypnotherapist with an advanced Diploma in counselling and Hypnotherapy and also holds a diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling and a diploma in Hypnotherapy and Counselling Skills.
Come along to this insightful talk and learn how you can incorporate some simple techniques into your everyday lives. Why not make a day out of it and book in for lunch at either the Conservatory or the Gumstool, followed by a mindful walk around the Calcot estate where you can take in the elements, breath, relax and put into practice these new mindful techniques.
